Please address any questions or problems you may have to Iulia Lupu, who is in charge of Reserves at ilupu@aup.edu or EXT. 815.
Multiple copies
Only one copy of a title is placed on reserve. If more than one is needed, and if the library has more than one copy, please specify this fact on the form under the call number (example: 2 copies).
Length of Reserve Status
Materials are placed on Reserve for a single semester and are automatically de-reserved after the final exams. If you wish materials to remain on Reserve for more than one semester, please indicate this next to 'semester' on the form.
Search the Library catalog and find the items to place on reserves. Send the list to Iulia Lupu who is in charge of Reserves at E-mail: ilupu@aup.edu (or at EXT. 815) or Isabelle Dupuy (Ext. 554) idupuy@aup.edu for further information.
Deadlines are set each semester for submitting recommendations for library acquisitions and reserve requests for courses offered the following semester. Timely Processing of Requests Cannot be Guaranteed Past These Deadlines.
Professor's personal copies can sometimes be put on Reserve when the Library does not have, or has not yet received, specific materials. These are not loaned overnight.
Please verify the author's full name, the complete title, and the entire call number of each item requested. Please check also that requested materials are currently available; if materials are in circulation at the time the request arrives, there may be a delay in processing.
Professors are notified in writing when materials are processed and available. Please do not tell your students something is on reserve until you have received a written confirmation from the Library. Please remember that the reserve requests require a MINIMUM of five working days before being available to your students.
Number of loans -- Normally, you can consult one reserve item at a time during the day and two items overnight. We do allow two items of different mediums during the day (i.e., one film and one book, one book and one article, one book and one CD set, NOT two books, NOT two films).
Loan period -- Two hours during the day, and three hours for films.
Overnight loans -- Some reserve materials can be checked out overnight; checkout for overnight loans starts two hours before closing. Patrons may sign up for overnight loans 24 hours in advance.
Returning overnight loans -- Reserve materials borrowed overnight are due within the first hour the next day that the University Library is open.
Fines -- Fines for reserve materials: 1 Euro per hour, or fraction thereof for each item not returned by the due time.
See 'Use of the Academic Film Collection' for special fines and restrictions on loans of films
