Open RefWorks and log in to your account (if you do not have one, create it now). Go to Search at the top and choose Online Catalog or Database. (This is also available in the Tools menu at the top). Choose The American University of Paris from the drop down menu under Online Catalog or Database to Search. Type in either the title, author or keywords. A new window or tab opens and searches the library catalog. Click next to the title(s) you want to save and then click Import at the top. (If you have different folders created for different research projects or classes you can specify which folder to use.) Back on the original page or tab you now have a table entitled Globally Edit Fields for Imported References. You may edit these fields but you do need the information for the MLA format. For instance, next to Voyager, you could put Voyager: Library Catalog in case someone doesn't know what Voyager is! To edit, type in new information and use the drop down menu on the right to say overwrite data and then click Edit Fields. Even if you don't edit the fields, click Edit Fields to put this information into your citation. To view the folder, click View Last Imported Folder. You can click view next to each title to see the information now imported into Refworks. This is how you import Voyager (Library Catalog) data into Refworks. View the tutorial in Flash to see it performed step by step. |
