The organization was founded to promote international monetary cooperation and exchange stability.  Its mission is to foster economic growth and to provide financial assistance to countries in an effort to help ease balance of payments adjustment. 
Particularly useful for Country information, charts, press releases, information on fund rates, international standards and codes, news and publications.
