How to Locate
and Check Out Reserves
Normally, you can consult one reserve item at a time during the day and two items overnight. We do allow two items of different mediums during the day (i.e., one film and one book, one book and one article, one book and one CD set, NOT two books, NOT two films). You may check out up to 2 CD sets at one time during the day. Two hours during the day. Some reserve materials can be checked out overnight; checkout for overnight loans starts two hours before closing. Patrons may sign up for overnight loans 24 hours in advance. Reserve materials borrowed overnight are due within the first hour the next day that the University Library is open. They can be returned before opening through the book drop at the Library entrance. Fines for reserve materials: 1 Euro per hour, or fraction thereof for each item not returned by the due time. See 'Use of the Academic Film Collection' for special fines and restrictions on loans of films. Faculty Information on Library Reserves What are Reserves?
How to Establish Reserve Readings for a Course
Go to the
Library catalog. Login with your ID.
Deadlines are set each semester for submitting recommendations for library acquisitions and reserve requests for courses offered the following semester. Please contact Isabelle Dupuy-Llorente who is in charge of Reserves at EXT. 556 or at E-mail: idupuy@aup.fr for further information. Timely Processing of Requests Cannot be Guaranteed Past These Deadlines. Professor's personal copies can sometimes be put on Reserve when the Library does not have, or has not yet received, specific materials. These are not loaned overnight. To ensure a rapid processing of reserve requests, please verify and print clearly the author's full name, the complete title, and the entire call number of each item requested. Please check also that requested materials are currently available; if materials are in circulation at the time the request arrives, there may be a delay in processing. Professors are notified in writing when materials are processed and available. Please do not tell your students something is on reserve until you have received a written confirmation from the Library. Please remember that the reserve requests require a MINIMUM of five working days before being available to your students. General Policies Multiple
